No prior experience is needed, whether it is your first time or you are a veteran-all are welcome. The club is free and anyone is allowed to join. Hey y'all! I'm Sarah Storch, a biomedical engineering major, class of 2023! Before coming to Mercer, I danced in a company for 10 years, focusing on ballet, tap, & jazz. Since joining the ballroom dance club & competition team as a freshman, I've had the opportunity to choreograph several performance pieces, compete with some awesome teammates, & fall in love with social dancing (staying up until 3:30am on the dancefloor at Atlanta Swing Classic)! My favorite styles of dance are International Rumba, West Coast Swing, & Jive.
Hi everyone! I'm Cheyanne Harris, a biology major with a focus in environmental science/conservation. I joined ballroom because I'd always felt that dance was something fun and interesting that could keep me active, and it just so happened that we had a ballroom dance club, so I decided to try it out! I now plan to pursue ballroom at the competition level, and my favorite dance is samba!
Hi everyone!! I'm Asia Allen, a sophomore psychology and Africana studies major with a focus in ethics. I fell in love with ballroom in middle school after taking cotillion classes where I was introduced to the waltz, foxtrot, and all things social dancing! Before coming to Mercer I hadn't danced since my introduction to ballroom, so I'm grateful that this club has allowed me to continue pursuing this passion and meet others with similar interests. Since joining I've had the opportunity to compete and perform with an amazing team with more to come! My favorites styles of dance are Bachata and Cha-Cha!!
Hey! I'm Stefan Mykytyn, a freshman in Computer Science all the way from Los Angeles, California. Prior to joining the Ballroom Club, I had no dance experience and was, to be honest, quite intimidated by the idea. Entering Mercer, I wanted to try something new and decided to give the club a try, a decision I am so happy I made. It's been an amazing experience to meet new people and learn new dances I otherwise never would have experienced. I enjoyed it so much that I joined the competition team. My favorite dances have to be Cha-Cha, Bachata, and East Coast Swing!
