About Us

Mercer Ballroom Dance Club is an athletic club at Mercer University. The Club meets on Mondays at 8:00 PM and teaches different styles of ballroom dance such as the Cha-Cha, Swing, Tango, Waltz, and many more. No prior experience is needed, whether it is your first time or you are a veteran-all are welcome. The club is free and anyone is allowed to join. We regularly schedule dances at Mercer and attend local dances around Macon and Atlanta. It is a great way to meet new people, get fit, and learn a new skill. Sami Shadoff

Hi everyone! My name is Sami Shadoff, a senior majoring in Marketing with minors in economics and theater! I have previously served as Treasurer of Mercer Ballroom, and I'm excited to be your Co-President this year! My favorite dances are cha cha, bachata, and (of course) west coast swing✨️ This club has helped me remember my love for dancing and make lots of long lasting friendships! 💕🎤🎀🤺

Stefan Mykytyn

Hey everyone! My name is Stefan Mykytyn and I’m majoring in Computer Science with minors in Math and (hopefully) Graphic Design. I am coming up on my fourth year (that went by quick) with Mercer Ballroom! I’ve held both the Treasurer and Vice-President positions, and I am now one of your Co-Presidents. I’ve enjoyed being a part of this club, especially when Bachata is on the table. Seeing as I had no previous dance experience, this club has been such a great introduction!

Hey everyone! My name is Lauren White, and I am a senior majoring in Public Health. I have served as both Secretary and Vice President previously, and I'm excited to be your VP again this year! I have been involved in the club since freshman year and a part of team for my second year, and I have loved every minute of it! What I love the most about this club is the variety of dances you can learn and the people I've met along the way! I've come to adore west coast swing, along with some of my other favs such as bachata, chacha, waltz, and country 2 step 🤩💕✨️😊

Hey everyone!!! My name is Willow Crabtree, and I'm a 3rd year majoring in Creative Writing and Spanish (still working on a minor 😅). This is my first time on the executive board and am so excited to be your Secretary this term! My favorite dances are waltz, hustle, and west coast swing (though I think jive is coming after my heart 👀). I have adored Mercer Ballroom Club and Comp Team and all the new friends I've made 😊 Having a dance outlet again has been such a blessing 💛✨️🌸
